This 5-part course offers skills necessary to work with children who have experienced traumatic events. The course explains the impact of and ways to deal with secondary traumatic stress. Those working in the child welfare system need to understand the importance of safety to children, families, and staff working with traumatized populations. This session demonstrates utilizing strategies to enhance both physical and psychological safety.
